(Ctenocephalides felis)
Tiny blood feeding insects, primarily associated with pets like dogs and cats, are notorious household pests. These parasites infest homes and can quickly multiply, causing discomfort to both humans and animals. Flea bites are itchy and can lead to skin irritation and allergies while their presence can be especially problematic for pet owners. Fleas are challenging to eradicate due to their ability to jump and hide in carpets, bedding and upholstery.
Safety of the pest controller and occupants of the affected area always comes first. PPE is used and inhabitants are usually asked to leave the property for a period of time during and after treatment. Treatment can involve spraying with insecticides, dusting with powder and for larger areas, fogging methods are employed.
Aftercare and post-treatment advice is always given to ensure the space is not reinfected, which may include keeping pets away from the area and taking advice from a veterinarian on appropriate flea treatments for the pets.
